Safety is the most important factor when performing a vehicle recovery. The CAOS Recovery Dampener is a crucial addition to any recovery kit, designed to reduce the risk of injury in the event of recovery equipment failure.
When used correctly, the dampener absorbs some of the recoil from a failed snatch strap or winch rope, significantly reducing the chance of serious injury. It helps direct the energy downward, away from vehicles and bystanders, minimising the risk of flying debris.

How to Use the CAOS Recovery Dampener When Winching
- Position the dampener – Lay it open on the ground in line with the winch line. Ensure the line is loose before installing the dampener.
- Secure it in place – Fold the dampener over the cable, placing it in the central third of the line. Use the adjustable buckles to secure it.
- Add weight – Fill the external pockets with loose sand or dirt (avoid using rocks or stones).
- Ensure a safe environment – Keep all people, pets, and vehicles at a safe distance before applying tension to the winch line.
- Adjust if necessary – If the dampener shifts, release tension before repositioning.
Warranty Information
Bushwakka-branded products are covered by a 12-month manufacturing warranty starting from the dispatch date. This covers defects in materials and workmanship only and does not include:
- Damage due to improper use or modifications
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by adverse conditions (e.g., weather)

Freight & Delivery Information
Inspect Before Accepting: Always inspect the package BEFORE accepting it from the courier. If there is any visible damage (dents, tears, crushed corners, wet marks, etc.), DO NOT ACCEPT THE PACKAGE. Contact us immediately.
Ownership Transfers Immediately: As soon as you accept and sign for the package from the courier, responsibility transfers to you. Bushwakka is not liable for any damage, loss, or theft that occurs after delivery.
Check Contents Promptly: Inspect all items within 7 days of delivery. Report any missing or damaged parts immediately. Claims reported after 14 days may not be accepted due to difficulty determining the cause of damage.
Safe Drop Policy: If you request "safe drop" delivery (leaving package unattended), Bushwakka cannot accept responsibility for freight damage or theft after delivery.
